Why do men cheat?

I have asked myself this

question a million

times.

And I am sure I am not alone. I know there are countless women out there who are also suffering the same torture as me. The worst thing that could happen to a marriage is a cheating spouse. It can bring everything the couple has worked hard to build into ruin in one fell swoop. I have experienced this first hand. Just call me Liz. And this is my story. And I hope the tale of my life will be able to be of some help

for other women who have also been cheated on.

 

I am in my early thirties, a mother of two gorgeous children and a happy housewife, or so I was. My life changed forev er when I got married to my fiancée of two years. It was a simple wedding. We moved into a house in some quiet subdivision which was just a 30-minute drive away from where my husband works. Everything went smoothly. We enjoyed each others’ company. The house became livelier after the kids. Everything was just the way I wanted. I would have been happy had everything stayed the same. But in an instant, I found myself sulking, wondering, why do men cheat on their wives?

 

 

 

 

I discovered that my husband was having an extramarital affair with his secretary.

I learned of the painful truth through friends and acquaintances who said they had seen my husband dating another woman on several occasions. And my worst fears were confirmed when I went through his things and found a picture of his mistress with a message of love written on the back. At that very moment it was as if the whole world came caving in on me. I sat on the bed, crying while trying to convince myself it was not true, that it was just a nightmare. I was left in shock asking myself several times why he cheated on me.

 

 

 

Do not blame yourself because of your Husband’s Infidelity

Everything was perfect. We had not been in any fights or major arguments. How could he have done this to me? For hours and the days to come I have asked myself why men cheat? I kept trying to find a reason.

 

Was it because of me?

Was it something I did or did not do?

Was I too busy attending to the house and kids?

Was I not able to keep myself attractive enough for him?

Were there times when he wanted to make love to me and I was too tired to do so?

Countless questions popped into my mind and the anxiety and pain was slowly eating away at my entire being.

 

 

The discovery of my husband’s extramarital affair with his secretary was like a dagger piercing through my heart. It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced, and it didn’t stop there. The discovery was only the beginning of the agonizing events that would almost rip me emotionally inside out. Up to this day the question still haunts me. Why men cheat on their wives?
